Between our world and hell lies the Dungeons of Kubla Khan. Here, that dreaded ultra-dimensional warlord has locked away those poor souls whom he holds for ransom. Some are souls who hold some covetous power to that monarch of War, other are those poor unfortunates who deserve the suffering his torturers heap upon their flesh. Some claim that their torture and ransom insure the Khan?s place as Demigod of Battles. It is suspected that their ultimate sacrifice at the hands of his executioner priests will grant his ascension to the upper tier of deities where he promises his worshippers to be the true Harbinger of Armageddon. All that is required, it seems, is the capture and sacrifice of the recent plunderers of his ancient tomb.

Unfortunately for the Khan’s great plans, a recent prisoner Ulsier has escaped his jailors and flung wide the prison doors. Now, a great prison revolt is in progress, one which threatens to erupt into the upper reaches. Prisoners freed from their cells, though still trapped in the Dungeons, stalk its corridors, riot or cause mayhem wherever they can. Menoshash the warden of the Dungeon of Kubla Khan, and Giarlock the Khan’s loyal executioner, have kept this escalating situation secret from their master for fear that they may find themselves interred with others who have disobeyed the Monarch of War.It is into this maelstrom that the character have been thrown, naked, without armament or weapon of war they must overcome the ultimate challenge in these, the Dungeons of Kubla Khan.

The Dungeon of Kubla Khan is an adventure module designed for 4-6 characters of 9-11th level. The adventure assumes that at least one divine spell-caster, one arcane spellcaster, and one rogue are in the party to handle any trap or spell-casting needs. The rest of the party should be filled out with sword swinging and arrow flinging classes, and multi-classed characters.
