Action RPG Circle of Doom ventures outside its home territory.

When developer Blueside first started talking about Kingdom of Fire: Circle of Doom early this year, the studio wasn’t clear on whether the Xbox 360 title would venture outside Asia. Today, however, Microsoft announced that the new title will indeed arrive in the States next year.

Unlike previous titles in the franchise, which offered action-heavy real-time strategy, Circle of Doom enters the Kingdom of Fire universe as an action RPG. The game uses characters and story threads from other games in the series, and will feature randomly generated environments, fast action, and — at times — thousands of enemies on screen at once.

In addition to its single-player campaign, Circle of Doom will let up to four players adventure together online via Xbox Live.

Microsoft currently plans to release Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom in the second quarter of 2007. Meantime, check out some first bits of artwork from the game.
