God of War II will use the PS3 to the max

Looks like Sony execs are more than enthusiastic about their machine. You probably know the most lovable guy at Sony, Phil Harrison, but what you didn’t know is that he recently gave a interview to
MTV in which he revealed a couple of interesting things.

He talked about LocoRoco and he revealed that Sony plans to further evolve the franchise. Apparently, they want to bring this unconventional game back in a couple of new ways and LocoRoco will also get some new friends in the near future.

Harrison mentioned another interesting thing, and according to him, nobody will ever use 100 percent of the PS3’s capacity. He explained that Grand Turismo 2 maxed out the first PlayStation and that the upcoming God of War II will be about as good as it gets on the PlayStation 2, but that Sony’s current PS3 games use less than half of the PS3’s capacity. Probably in time, game developers will discover new ways of using the PS3’s multiple processors and wireless controller to their full capacity.

Considering that Sony’s next-gen will constantly receive firmware updates, I guess it’s safe to say that Sony can rest for a while, and release their next console in the next decade. One thing still puzzles me: how long will they keep the number thing? I mean, will the next console be called PlayStation 4? Three are enough! From this point of view, Nintendo are much better, as they have always come up with great names for their consoles.
