Logitech to develop a PS3 controller

ChillStream will be the first controller developed by Logitech, to be available for the PlayStation 3 games console.

The peripheral and accessories maker plans to incorporate a 40 mm fan in the new controller. The fan is meant to keep player’s hands sweat free as they get captivated by the game. It can push up to 3.41 cubic feet of air per minute,
through the 3 narrow vents on each side of the controller.

Besides being quiet, the incorporated fan will keep fingers, palm and the base of the thumb cool and dry.

The new PS3 controller will also have three speed settings. Players will be able to set the controller on the high setting if they want a quick air inflow, low if they wish for the inflow to be more moderate and they will also be able to turn it completely off.

ChillStream is due to come out this November, at the same time with the PS3, and the price for the US and Japanese markets was set at US$ 39.99. Logitech previously launched a PC version of ChillStream which registered a large success.

Other Logitech peripherals like Driving Force Pro and Driving Force EX are compatible with the forthcoming games console from Sony.
